Design of The Ghadir Cable Bridge Ahvaz
The design and architecture of this bridge are different from the other bridges of the Karun River and is constructed without a concrete cable foundation. The Pylons, or the supporting pillars of the cables, in of The Ghadir Cable Bridge Ahvaz are in the form of the letter “A”, which is the beginning of the word Ahvaz in English.
Specifications of The Ghadir Cable Bridge Ahvaz
Ghadir Cable Bridge pylons are 81 meters from the water surface, and the deck is located on Karun River. There are 32 cables on both sides of the Ghadir bridge. Total cable length is 170 km.
The central axis of the high arch Ghadir Cable Bridge Ahvaz, which is, in fact, the 8th bridge of Ahvaz, is located near the central core of Ahvaz, west of the Karoon River and in the Ammaniyah area.
The Ghadir Cable Bridge Ahvaz is one thousand fourteen meters in length and width of the bridge at the entrance is about 20 meters and 60 centimetres, and in the middle of the bridge, this width is increased by 1 meter. Due to such features, the bridge has been dubbed the longest bridge in the Middle East.
The bridge has two 372 meter long eastern and western group rails, a 325 meters concrete bridge deck, 20 meters wide. The bridge has been sealed in various stages with around 30,000 tons concrete. Five bridge cranes and modern marine equipment have been used to install the metal deck, with a very high record for indigenous engineers in the Middle East.
The total value of the cables holding the bridge is around 240 tons, and the installation plan was to instal 32 rows in pairs on both sides of the bridge, and on each side of the pylons, there were eight rows of cable, so that, on each base, two cables have been Installed as holder. The project cost about 34 billion Tomans.
