Masoudieh Palace – Tehran
The Masoudieh Palace in Tehran is one of the oldest monuments of the Qajar era. This palace is very important and valuable in terms of architecture as well as the notable historical events which happened inside it. Every day, many foreign and domestic tourists come to this palace to visit its beautiful architecture, spend moments exploring it, and stay away from the hectic city of Tehran.
History of Masoudieh Palace Tehran
The Garden of Ngarestan was built in 1807, and the gate used to be connected to the garden’s main building.
In the southern part of the garden of Negarestan, the Garden of Nizamiye was built. This garden was purchased in 1873 by Zal-ol Soltan, and then Massoudieh Garden and its mansion were added to the complex. Masoudieh’s mansion, the most valuable building of Zal-ol Sultan in Tehran’s Dolat district on the western side of the Nizamiye Mansion, was founded on land with an area of nearly 4,000 square meters and was designed and renovated by Reza Gholi Khan (Siraj al-Molk) in 1878. According to the remaining documents, the garden used to have two exterior and interior parts, but unfortunately there nothing left of the internal parts at the moment. The current Masoudieh complex is the outer part. There are seven mansions in the garden now connected by courtyards.
The architecture of Masoudieh Palace Tehran
The architect of Masoudieh Palace Tehran is Professor Shaban Architect. Some of the decorations used in the construction are plastering, tiling, calligraphy, mural painting, etc.
The complex has an area of 15,600 square meters and is in the form of a trapezoidal shape in the northeast-southwest direction. The eastern side is 188.5 meters, the western side is 138.5 meters, and the south side is 86 meters, with an extra part of the garden in the southwest side, which currently houses the printing house of the ministry of education.
The main mansions are the Mansion of the Court House, the Mansion of Sofre Khaneh, Seyyed Javadi’s courtyard, Seyyed Javadi’s mansion, Mashiri courtyard, Mashir al-Dawlah Mansion The backyard, the hall of the carriage-gate, the garden of Diwan Khaneh.
There also new and modern buildings added to the complex during recent years. That include utilities and modern necessities to keep the whole complex going.
How to access the Masoudieh Palace Tehran
There is a simple way to arrive at the Masoudieh Palace Tehran. The first is to take the Metro Line 2 to the Mellat Station and go to Ekbatan Street after leaving the station on Mellat Street. The entrance to Masoudieh Palace Tehran is located on this street.
Also, from the Baharestan subway station, you can go to the southwest side of the Baharestan Square and reach Ekbatan Street at the entrance to the Masoudieh Palace Tehran, but you will have a relatively longer route.
Also, if you intend to use the bus to visit the Masoudieh Palace Tehran, you can use the bussed located at Baharestan Station.
