Tabiat Bridge – Tehran
The Tabiat Bridge located in Tehran on Resalat Express Way which is a modern and iconic symbol of Tehran which was designed in 2009 and 2010 and the construction completed in 2014. Upon its inauguration, four million people have visited this bridge in the first year. The two young and talented architects who designed this bridge are Leila Araghian (chief architect) and Alireza Behzad who awarded some international awards including Aga Khan Award for the Architecture. The bridge connects two parks in northern Tehran without blocking the view of Alborz mountain. The Tabiat Bridge designed as a pedestrian bridge in two continuous levels using a complex steel structure. In the central part of the bridge, two-levels turns smoothly into three-levels which makes it very attractive for visitors. The structure has a different width which gives it a three-dimensional view. In addition, the spatial view has set up over three columns featuring a tree shape with branches.
The concept behind Tabiat Pedestrian Bridge is to allow people enjoy walking throughout the bridge and rest in the middle while enjoying the Tehran view and Alborz mountains. In the middle of the bridge, there is a wide area for congregating and relaxing. In the lower level of Tabiat Bridge, there are restaurants allowing pedestrians to experience eating over a busy highway. Walking through the Tabiat Bridge makes pedestrians feel walking through a forest as it is connecting to parks together. The Tabiat Bridge and other modern structures in Tehran is an attempt by the Iranian government to rejuvenate the Tehran architecture and making it more modern.
