Arrival To Tehran
Ok, the long process of planning and medical consultation is done, and now you are in Tehran. There are few things to check before packing your luggage for Iran, as listed in below
- Please make sure you don’t possess any drug or alcohol as it’s illegal in Iran,
- Know where you are going. Have information like your hotel details, contacts in hand,
- English is the second language in Iran, so don’t hesitate to ask people,
- There are Tourist Information Desks or Kiosk in different parts of the town specifically to help tourists,

Getting Taxi & Transportation
Tehran is a cosmopolitan city and believe me it is big. But you have plenty of options for transportation. As a tourist visiting the country for the first time, licensed Taxis are the best option. Taxi’s fares are cheap, so treat yourself!
If you are travelling from abroad to Iran most likely you’ll land in Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), from there you can get a Taxi from the Tourist Information Desk. Have your hotel details in hand, as it helps.
If you are travelling inside the country, you might be using Mehrabad Airport, as it’s a designated airport for domestic flights.
Underground or Metro

Most of the shops will give you prices in Tomans.

Your mobile roaming is most likely going to work, but it’s going to be costly. The best is to use an Iranian Sim Card which literally costs nothing. You can use it for accessing the Internet or apps such as WhatsApp for communication.
